The organization planted a recently completed habitat slope as part of restoration and habitat enhancement at the Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge Ravenswood Ponds near Menlo Park's Bedwell Bayfront Park. Native plants are the backbone helping to protect the Restoration Project's restoration areas from invasive weeds that threaten to crowd out native plants and deprive all of the species (including humans!) that benefit from healthy salt marshes.</p><p>This site has rapidly transformed following the Restoration Project levee breach event in late 2023, opening up an impounded salt pond to Bay waters. This is a crucial moment for establishing healthy upland salt marsh habitat. Save The Bay is making a big push to put as many native plants in the ground as they can before invasive plants can take over.
