You can join ecologists to help restore habitat for birds and other wildlife at Eden Landing Ecological Reserve in Union City! Volunteers at the San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory (SFBBO) event will get to tour an active restoration site that is not normally accessible to the public, learn about restoration goals and techniques, view wildlife, and improve the health of San Francisco Bay.
Volunteers are asked to bring sun protection and layers for warm and cold weather, sturdy shoes, clothes that can get a little dirty, and water. Please note that volunteers will not have access to restroom facilities during the event and will have to drive on a graded dirt road for a short distance. Due to access restrictions, all volunteers will need to stay for the duration of the event.
Please drive under 25 miles per hour when entering Horner Street and when accessing the trail. This is a residential area and kids are often at play near the streets, and driving slowly is expected for their safety.
This event is recommended for ages 12+.
