  • 04 January 2023
Project Description

On December 16, 2022, Brian Fulfrost of Brian Fulfrost and Associates shared final results for the latest round of mapping of South Bay marshes and mudflats and discussed changes in marsh and mudflat extent observed over time. The Habitat Evolution Mapping Project's (HEMP) 2019-2021 update work, called HEMP 2, used satellite imagery and groundtruthing to map habitats for the South Bay Salt Pond Restoration Project, covering lands both within Project boundaries and the greater South Bay. HEMP's initial mapping work occurred 10 years earlier, 2009-2011.
